CEO of American Trucking Association Bill Graves to Present During  HDAW ’12 Education Program

ORLAND PARK, IL - September 28, 2011; Governor Bill Graves, President & CEO, American Trucking Associations, will speak to a large audience of heavy duty distributors and suppliers at HDAW’12.  Graves’ presentation, ‘Washington Update: Status and Outlook for the Trucking Industry – 2012,’ is part of the opening session of the HDAW 2012 Education Program and will take place at 9:30am Tuesday, January 24, at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.

Graves’ presentation will provide an outlook based on the impact of the economy on the heavy duty industry, while also examining the potential effects of federal policy issues. The key points covered in Graves’ presentation focus on critical issues impacting the foundation of the industry’s culture in support of the HDAW’12 theme—Corporate Culture: The Foundation for Success.

The American Trucking Associations (ATA), is the national trade and safety organization of the United States trucking industry.  Through its 50 affiliated state trucking associations, conferences and other organizations, it represents motor carriers before all branches of the government.

Graves provided 22 years of public service to the state of Kansas as its National Guard’s Commander-in-Chief, its Secretary of State, and two terms as Governor.  He was reelected to his second term with the largest percentage of votes in Kansas history.

Gov. Graves has built a reputation on his life-long experience in the trucking industry as well as his ability to create public policy, his administrative experience and political skills.

Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week is the largest North American gathering of the independent heavy-duty industry. More than 1,700 managers and executives from 17 countries – including distributors, manufacturers, service providers, educators and media – attended the 2011 conference in Las Vegas.
