Mumbai - Tata Motors plans to kick off exports of its World Truck range, also referred to as Prima, from 2011-12. On the radar are South Africa, Latin America and West Asia.
"The international business of Prima will contribute to our overall volumes from next fiscal. We have already sent out vehicles for trials to some countries, of which South Africa is one,"Mr Ravi Pisharody, President, Commercial Vehicles, told Business Line.
Volvo Trucks has revealed that its global deliveries during October increased by 35 percent year-on-year (y/y). Sales of the Volvo, Mack, Renault Trucks, UD Trucks and Eicher brands during the month reached 17,642 units.
Dubbed E2876 LE 202, the gas-powered engine has been developed specifically for efficient operation using gases with only 50 percent methane content.
The six-cylinder, in-line engine is based on its E2876 series and has a single-stage exhaust turbocharger as well as two-stage cooling of the boost mixture, with high- and low-temperature circuits.
Russian truck-maker KamAZ has announced that it has brought down the price on some of its trucks by up to 12 percent in order to stimulate sales. According to an Itar-TASS news agency report, KamAZ spokesperson Oleg Afanasyev said, "KamAZ has brought down prices on its most powerful trucks, which are in high demand among its clients engaged in construction and long-distance freight operations."
Luxembourg, November 16th, 2010 - Sam Martin (65), COO of SAF-HOLLAND Group and President of the American subsidiary SAF-HOLLAND Inc., will resign from his operating activities at the end of 2010 at his own request. He will remain available to the Company to help insure a smooth transition in leadership. He is expected to be nominated to join the Board of Directors at the Company's Annual General Meeting on 28 April 2011. His responsibilities in the Management Board will be re-distributed and the board will also be reduced in size.
