CLEVELAND -- Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corp. has announced net income per share of $1.25 for the fourth quarter of 2009, an increase of 28 percent over net income per share of 98 cents in the fourth quarter of 2008. Sales in the quarter were $3.1 billion, 10 percent below the same period in 2008. Net income was $211 million compared to $163 million in 2008, an increase of 29 percent.
DEFIANCE, OHIO – Defiance Metal Products (DMP) announced today that it acquired Medalist Laserfab, Inc., a privately held metal fabrication operation based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Medalist will maintain its brand name and continue to manage business from its Oshkosh headquarters.
“This is a great strategic move for Medalist and DMP,” said Dennis Weaver, DMP’s chief executive officer.

The U.S. House of Representatives Financial Services Committee is holding a hearing on Friday, February 5 to examine the availability of lending in the U.S. economy – particularly manufacturing. The Committee is encouraging the business community to provide written testimony about individual experiences. Contrary to normal practices, this testimony can be anonymous and does not have to detail the names of the companies or financial institutions involved.
Lyle Bass of Power Train Service was named the 2009 Truck Parts & Service Distributor of the Year during the awards luncheon Thursday, Jan. 21, at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week 2010 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Headquartered in Indianapolis, the nine-location company is owned by Bass and business partner Joe Leffel. It was selected through votes cast by aftermarket representatives from peer distributors, suppliers and industry organizations. Leffel was present to accept the award.
OSHKOSH, Wis., Jan 25, 2010 -- Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) today announced its Defense division received two delivery orders valued at more than $325 million from the U.S. Army Tank- automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command (TACOM LCMC) to supply spare parts and repair kits for the MRAP All-Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV).
