Commercial Vehicle Outlook Conference
The Commercial Vehicle Outlook Conference in Dallas, TX on Wednesday, August 24, and Thursday, August 25 was a resounding success, with well over 350 attendees participating in the 2011 conference.
Those registered to attend represented the following:
- Owners/Operators of 58,502 trucks, an increase of 60% over CVOC 2010 and representing $5.85 billion in trucks.
- Owners/Operators of 185,043 trailers, an increase of 151% over CVOC 2010 and representing $2.775 in trailers.
Other conference highlights included:
- Keynote presentation by Karl Rove, former deputy chief of staff and senior advisor to President George W. Bush, who will give his insider’s view on Washington politics and the 2012 presidential election.
- The Future Truck, a presentation and panel discussion featuring Sandeep Kar, global director, commercial vehicle research, Frost & Sullivan, Max Fuller, co-chairman and CEO, U.S. Xpress and Kyle Treadway, president of Kenworth Sales Co. and chairman of the American Truck Dealers.
- Trucking’s Economic Outlook, featuring Noel Perry, managing director with FTR Consulting Group and Peter Nesvold, transportation and logistics analyst with Jefferies & Co.
- Challenges facing OEM’s, suppliers, dealers and fleets presented by James Hebe, executive vice president, sales at Navistar.
- Thriving in a Changing Environment, a panel discussion featuring Robert Low, president and founder of Prime, Inc,. Don Orr, president and CEO of Central Freight, and Russell Stubbs, president and CEO of FFE Transportation Services.
- Update on the regulatory and legislative issues affecting OEM’s supplier and carries, with Ann Wilson, senior vice president of MEMA, and Rob Abbott, vice president, safety policy, American Trucking Associations.
The 2011 event was sponsored by Castrol, Chevron, Espar Heater Systems, Jacobs Vehicle Systems, Kenworth, PACCAR Parts, PACCAR Engines, Peterbilt and Valvoline.
The third annual CVOC 2012 will again be held in Dallas, TX in August, prior to the start of GATS, on August 22 and 23, 2012.
